Enhanced Coolant Management System Designs

Jorgensen Conveyor and Filtration Solutions will exhibit two complete, fully automated systems that demonstrate compact and modular design, customization, and versatility in coolant filtration and monitoring.

JORGENSEN CONVEYOR and FILTRATION SOLUTIONS will present its expanded FlexFiltration coolant-management systems that extend coolant life, enhance part finishes, and reduce maintenance procedures and costs at IMTS 2026 - South Bldg., Booth 338009. Jorgensen will exhibit two complete, fully automated systems that showcase compact modular designs with advanced customization for integration versatility in coolant filtration and monitoring.

Designed to fit on a high-speed five-axis CNC machine tool, the first system features a conveyor with an integrated coolant tank. This solution is sold directly through OEM machine tool builders and dealers. In this setup, an integrated FlexFiltration tank maintains coolant clarity down to or below 10 microns with a chip conveyor, filter media and accessories.

The customizable system also features Jorgensen's PermaClean advanced filtration to eliminate sludge buildup in the coolant tank. PermaClean's consumables-free design paired with multi-stage cyclonic filtration eliminates non-cut time for tank maintenance.

This setup highlights the versatility of Jorgensen's compact, modular solutions for high-speed machining. A Jorgensen EcoFilter® 80 conveyor handles primary chip separation at 80 microns with more than 97% efficiency. PermaClean eductor nozzles maintain coolant movement to suspend fines and prevent settling as coolant moves through a cyclonic filter and into the system's main tank. Maintenance-free secondary filtration within a Flex C Series cyclonic filter supports unattended machining. Depending on material type and coolant flow, users can choose to operate with either gravity or bag filtration. Once cleaned to 10-micron clarity, coolant proceeds into an ultra-clean tank before delivery back to the machine tool.

The entire system fits compactly under or next to a machine tool. High-pressure coolant options, including Jorgensen's advanced Flexforce through-spindle coolant system, address the cutting zone directly to break the heat-generated vapor barrier between cutting tool and workpiece for precision cuts with faster feeds and speeds.

Additionally, attendees will see a gravity media coolant system designed for a grinding application. This system integrates FlexFiltration’s Flex G line of gravity media with a Jorgensen Mag-Drag® magnetic drag conveyor for ferrous-metal chip removal. In this compact design, coolant pumps from the machine tool to the filtration system. The customizable modular system provides the flexibility to address virtually any machining application.

The Mag-Drag conveyor incorporates powerful magnets below the conveyor’s load and lower curve sections to attract and retain cast iron, steel and other ferrous metal chips. Metal drag-flight cleats scrape chips and sludge up to the discharge. The efficient combination of Mag-Drag and EcoFilter manages challenging fines that compromise coolant integrity, extending the interval between tank cleanings and enhancing production quality.

At IMTS, Jorgensen will demonstrates its technology together with Mass Finishing, Inc. and ALMCO, as providers of manufacturing technology under their parent company, Innovance. Mass Finishing, Inc. develops and supplies industrial parts polishing and deburring machines, and ALMCO is a manufacturer of industrial parts washers, deburring, polishing and tumbling equipment, and finishing supplies.
