Automation for Efficient, Productive Five-Axis Machining

June 15, 2022
Material and pallet handling solutions – including robotics and flexible pallet and workpiece handling – will be demonstrated, along with a customizable CNC user interface.

HERMLE USA INC. will demonstrate automated material and pallet handling solutions at IMTS 2022 – booth 339119 – and how these capabilities will increase efficiency, productivity, and production speed for demanding machining applications. The North American unit of Maschinenfabrik Berthold Hermle AG plans to display four of its five-axis machining centers outfitted with a variety of automation possibilities, including:

 The C 32 machining center with RS1 robot system showcasing flexible pallet and workpiece handling;

  The C 22 machining center with the compact, but productive, RS 05-2 robot system; and,

  The C 650 machining center showing the flexible pallet handling of large parts with  the HS flex heavy handling system.

In addition to displaying its own five-axis machining and automation solutions, Hermle USA will partner with CNC controls manufacturer Heidenhain Corp. for the U.S. debut of its latest TNC7 controller technology. The TNC7 features a novel and customizable user interface and an extensive package of functions, including smooth and precise touchscreen operation.

The TNC7 will be installed on a Hermle C250 machining center, which will be set up to produce samples of the company’s unique and much-anticipated demo parts throughout the week-long IMTS show.
