CAM software developer DP Technology Corp. agreed be acquired by Stockholm-based Hexagon AB in a private transaction, adding its CNC machining simulation and programming capabilities to the Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence portfolio of sensors, software, and autonomous technologies.
“The global reach of Hexagon will allow us to expand our brand and to accelerate the evolution of our products based on the needs of manufacturers around the world,” stated Dan Frayssinet, co-founder and CEO of DP Technology.
DP Technology’s flagship software is ESPRIT, a CAM system for CNC programming, optimization, and simulation. In their announcement, the developer stated that the ESPRIT mission—to deliver powerful solutions to the world to drive automation in manufacturing—is synchronous with Hexagon’s mission of putting data to work to enable autonomous, connected ecosystems that boost efficiency, productivity, and quality for their customers.”
