HURCO COMPANIES announced the debut of its new BM500U five-axis machining center at IMTS 2026, in the South building at booth 338319. Designed for efficient production of complex parts, the machine will be demonstrated alongside a new eight-station automatic pallet changer that facilitates unmanned operation.

Capable of maximizing precision across a diverse mix of complex parts, the BM500U uses an integrated trunnion table design that ensures accuracy and allows for increased Z-axis clearance. With a large work-envelope-to-floor-space ratio, the machine includes a 19.7 in. (500 mm) rotary tilt table and X, Y, Z axis travels of 33.5 in. (850 mm) x 19.7 in. (500 mm) x 19.7 in. (500 mm).

The BM500U provides the capability for both five-axis simultaneous and 3+2 five-axis machining. A 15,000-rpm, 11-kW Big Plus® direct drive spindle offers robust material removal rates.

Precision and accuracy are ensured by 0.050-µm-resolution absolute linear encoders. To increase flexibility further, an automatic tool changer provides capacity for 60 tools as standard, with a 96-tool version optionally available.

At IMTS 2026, the BM500U will be paired with a rotary-style automatic pallet changer with eight stations. Capable of serving a range of machine types, the system uses 12.6 in. (320 mm) pallets that accommodate parts up to 17.7 in. (450 mm) in diameter and 15.7 in. (400 mm) in height.

Offering an extremely high value proposition, the BM500U also contains a broad range of standard features designed to boost productivity and flexibility, including linear scales, a spindle cooler, through-spindle air and coolant, flood coolant and an air mist collector.
