SMW Autoblok announced March 17 the release of its new long-stroke model MOTIACT mechatronic grippers. The MX-L 335 and MX-L 520 long-stroke grippers are designed for end-of-arm tooling in automation for machine tending, material handling and assembly.
The MX-L 335 long-stroke gripper has a stroke of 55 millimeters per jaw, SMW Autoblok says, and has a gripping force of 2.5 to 27 kilonewtons in an aluminum housing 335 millimeters wide; the MX-L 520 has a stroke of 99 millimeters per jaw and a gripping force of between 10-49 kN within a 520 millimeter wide aluminum housing. The grippers are suitable for use bearing large workpiece weights and can be directly integrated into automation environment PLCs via Profinet or Ethernet/IP.
According to SMW Autoblok, the release of the latest grippers means the full MOTIACT line can cover stroke lengths between 3 and 99 millimeters and gripping forces between 40 to 40,000 Newtons.
