The ATD Actuator is a self-contained drive system that automatically and safely opens and closes access doors on machine tools and other industrial equipment. Manufactured by Milwaukee Protective Covers, Milwaukee, the unit can be added to an existing machine.

No force needed
Rockwell Automation, Milwaukee, has developed the Allen-Bradley Zero-Force touch button, which, unlike a traditional push button, requires no operator pressure to activate it. The device uses a field-effect sensing technology, which converts light human touch into an electrical output that initiates operation.

Magnetic latch holds tight

The Epinus noncontact switch from the French company BTI detects the opening of protective doors on machinery and triggers a safety reaction. The switch has a strong magnetic latching ability and a 1-msec response time.
