Dassault Aviation revealed its latest private jet model in a press conference March 10 in Bordeaux-Mérignac, France. The Falcon 10X, the company says, is larger and roomier than previous business jets and features a composite wing. The plane also uses an Advance2 engine core from Rolls-Royce that can reportedly achieve thrust of 18,000 pounds and push the craft to 90% the speed of sound.

According to Dassault, the new business jet has a maximum range of 7,500 nautical miles, allowing it to fly between Shanghai and New York City. The interior of the Falcon 10X can be configured in three- or four-room interiors. For the pilot, it also includes Dassault’s NeXus flight deck and Smart Throttle, which the French plane maker says was inspired by similar control systems in fighter jets.

In a statement, Dassault CEO Eric Trappier praised the plane’s technology and features, including its cabin size and composite wing.

“Dassault Falcons have always been at the vanguard of business aviation,” Trappier said, adding, “and the 10X is no exception, embodying the very best technology available today.”

The plane still has to go through flight testing before it can become commercially available.
