In a private transaction, bearings manufacturer The Timken Co. acquired Rosa Sistemi S.p.A., a designer and manufacturer of roller guideways, linear bearings, customized linear systems and actuators, commercialized ball guideways and precision ball screws. Ohio-based Timken did not announce the cost of the purchase, which it said will be funded with cash on hand.
Rosa Sistemi is headquartered in Milan, Italy, where it also has a manufacturing plant.
"Rosa Sistemi's roller guides and customized actuators are highly complementary product lines to our Rollon, Nadella, and Intelligent Machine Solutions (iMS) linear motion product offerings," stated Timken EVP Christopher Coughlin. "This acquisition provides attractive operational synergies and geographical expansion opportunities to scale and grow the business leveraging our global footprint."
Rollon is a brand of linear guides, telescopic rails, and linear actuators and systems for industrial and commercial applications, which Timken bought in 2018. Timken acquired industrial robotics and automation manufacturer iMS in 2021; and Nadella is a producer of engineered bearings and industrial motion products that Timken acquired in April.
