Flatbed CNC Lathe for Heavy-Duty Machining

New design for job shops and production floors is engineered for heavy cutting to maintain exceptional rigidity and precision throughout the machine’s service life.

SB Machine Tools, national distributor for DAINICHI MACHINERY, will introduce the Dainichi DLX75x300 flatbed CNC lathe at IMTS 2026, in the South building at booth 33556. The heavy-duty machine is engineered for job shops, production floors, and manufacturers tackling large, demanding workpieces - and engineered from the ground up for heavy cutting.

The bed of the DLX75x300 features a fully integrated main unit and leg structure, with a box-shaped double-wall design and proprietary rib arrangement that delivers exceptional rigidity and maintains precision throughout the machine’s service life.

The wide saddle sliding surface of the carriage supports stable, heavy cuts, while the cross-slide and tool turret are built with the same robust structural philosophy. The headstock’s design and geared transmission provide switchable high and low torque, making the machine equally capable on roughing passes and finish cuts. Supporting large workpieces is equally addressed: the tailstock handles a maximum weight between centers of 3,300 lbs., features an MT #5 tungsten-tipped center, a 3.5-in. quill diameter with 7.9-in. of travel, and an optional 4.3-in. quill for even heavier applications.

A standout feature of the DLX series is Dainichi’s proprietary “Guidance Function”, a hybrid control system that blends manual operation with CNC efficiency and precision. Operators benefit from the intuitive swinging-type operation panel, which integrates a color LCD display, manual data input keyboard, and all operational switches in a single ergonomic unit positioned above the carriage for easy reach. The result is a machine that experienced machinists can operate naturally while still leveraging the repeatability and programming capability of a full CNC platform.
