KASSOW ROBOTS recently released its Kassow Robots Connector App for Bosch Rexroth’s ctrlX operating system. According to a company release, the program allows users to integrate the company’s cobots with its ctrlX OS to simplify commissioning, control and system integration.
Previous means of connecting Kassow’s robots to ctrlX devices required PLC programming, the company says, but the new application interfaces with the operating system via the ctrlX Data Layer and provides a user interface for simplified setup, monitoring, and control of cobots and robots, as well as cobot and robot programming via CODESYS PLC or other ctrlX OS applications. The application offers a unified control architecture, real-time communication between cobots and control systems, reduced integration and commissioning time and increased system flexibility.
In a statement, Kristian Kassow, Founder and CEO of Kassow Robots, the application aims to simplify the integration process for its customers. The connector application functions with vision systems, grippers and HMIs for use in palletizing, bin picking and mobile-robotics applications.
“Our goal is to reduce integration complexity for customers and partners,” Kassow said. “By centralizing control, data access, and system interaction on ctrlX OS, we help accelerate commissioning and enable more flexible, intelligent automation solutions.”
