Baileigh Industrial announced the launch of its gear head engine lathes line in March. According to a company statement, the engines are suitable for production shops, MRO and industrial facilities, training programs, fabrication shops, and upgrades for legacy lathes. The company says their lathes are meant to increase output, handle large parts, and contain waste material.
The Baileigh Industrial gear head engine lathes have a UL 987 certification and standard safety features including a foot brake, a chuck guard and lead screw cover. It also includes a full-length splash guard and integrated chip tray to contain chips and coolant and a 2” spindle bore for common bar work. A Standard 2-Axis SINO DRO provides operators with real-time position feedback, which Baileigh says reduces reliance on manual measurements.
In a statement, Tony Topf, director of product management at Baileigh Industrial, the new lathes improve on safety and capacity without compromising speed.
“Shops today need machines that deliver more output without slowing operators down,” Topf said. “Baileigh gear head engine lathes are built to provide the power, control and safety modern shops expect.”
