Romi BW Machine Tools announced February 4 the launch of its new DCM 620-5X five-axis. According to Romi, the DCM 620-5X can be used for simultaneous five-axis machining and five-sided operations and can complete parts with complex geometries in a single setup to reduce part handling and setup time.
The device features a direct-drive ISO 40 spindle travelling at up to 15,000 rpm with a 22hk motor for high-speed machining, as well as a 600 by 600mm rotary table that can support workpieces up to 500kg. In addition to a rigid cast-iron machine structure with linear roller guides on the X, Y, and Z axes, the high-stiffness rotary/tilting table has B-axis travel from -50 through 110 degrees and full C-axis rotation to provide access to multiple part faces without manual repositioning. The DCM 620-5X is controlled with a Siemens Sinumerik One CNC display.
The DCM 620-5x comes with a 30-tool automatic tool changer and an enclosed work area, and optionally with linear scales, in-process probing, tool presetting and high-pressure through-spindle coolant configurations. For more information, visit www.romiusa.com.
