PostProcess Technologies released its DEMI X 520 for Industrial PolyJet device November 18. According to a release, the DEMI X 520 can automatically remove supports from parts printed with the Industrial PolyJet 3D printer with higher batch sizes than previous post-printing products.

The Buffalo, New York-based 3D printing company that also makes the Industrial PolyJet says the DEMI X 520 features automatic support removal, a programmable automated lift, variable-speed pump control, and integrated software for storing recipes. The automatic process allows for processing large batches of 3D printed parts at a time with limited operator interaction requirements, which PostProcess CEO Jeff Mize says speeds the post-printing process.

PolyJet users continue to demand faster, more consistent post-processing solutions that match the precision and speed of their printers,” Mize said. “The DEMI X 520 for Industrial PolyJet meets this demand with automation intelligence that eliminates manual bottlenecks and enables true end-to-end workflow efficiency.”

In its November 18 statement, PostProcess said the DEMI X 520 reduces the necessity of manual intervention as well as decreasing operator exposure to chemicals using an automated lift and safety enclosure. The device also reportedly improves reliability by using automatic, repeatable processes, reducing the risk of part damage.
