Counter-Rotation Deep Hole Gundrilling

High-performance, single-spindle or multi-mode machine engineered for precision hole-making up to 40 mm diameter and 1,500 mm deep.

UNISIG Deep Hole Drilling Systems will be exhibiting its UNE40-1500-CR deep hole gundrilling machine at IMTS 2026, in the South hall at booth 339159.

The UNISIG UNE40-1500-CR is a high-performance, single-spindle or multi-mode counter-rotation gundrilling machine engineered for precision hole-making up to 40 mm (1.57 inches) in diameter and 1500 mm (59 inches) deep.

The maximum tool speed is 6,000 RPM, and the maximum work speed is 400 RPM.

The UNE40-1500-CR applies tool and workpiece counter-rotation to maximize concentricity and hole straightness on symmetrical cylindrical parts.

The heavy-duty machine bed and fully enclosed working envelope are designed to handle high thrust forces and contain high-pressure coolant flushing.

An integrated high-pressure programmable coolant delivery system feeds oil through the center of the gundrill tool to lubricate the cutting edge continuously and flush chips out via the V-flute.

The machine’s CNC controls govern feed rates and spindle speeds dynamically, optimizing tool life and surface finish without requiring interrupted peck-drilling cycles.

Other highlights of UNISIG’s exhibit will include large-scale representative defense industry items, small-diameter medical and surgical example workpieces, and a newly updated gundrilling regrinding system with UNISIG-developed application software.
