Applied Production's updated ProFold sheetmetal unfolding software supports KeyCreator 3.0 CAD packages from Kubotek USA. With ProFold, engineers and designers quickly and easily create accurate flat-pattern layouts. The version comes in three levels: ProFold Solids, ProFold Wireframe, and ProFold Lite.

Solid models unfold with the click of a mouse. The software then stores user materials and bend parameters in a database and automatically applies that information to bends in the part. An interactive tree displays all part bends and lets users fine-tune the parameters for each one. The tree is color coded to indicate if the data was found in a user's bend table and whether or not the bend data is valid. ProFold Wireframe, included with ProFold Solids, unfolds 3D-wireframe models of sheetmetal parts.

"Since the release of KeyCreator, Cadkey users have been asking for a version of ProFold for it," comments Joe Bucalo, president of Applied Production. For companies working with sheetmetal parts, ProFold completely integrates into the CAD system and enhances the sheetmetal capabilities of KeyCreator, complementing the geometry-based design approach.
