InnoForm cold-forming taps from Emuge Corp. (www.emuge.com) are available in 30 different designs and various shapes to thread regular steel, hardened steels, wrought aluminum alloys, nonferrous metals, cast aluminum, stainless steels and materials with restricted ductile properties.
The company says the tools' polygon shape and various forming wedges produce effective thread profiles for the unique properties of workpiece materials, and that InnoForm taps easily form threads in applications that cannot be efficiently machined with cutting taps. They are available in metric sizes from coarse thread DIN 13 M3 through M16 and fine thread DIN 13 MF 8x1 through 16x1.5.
