Esprit CAM software now reads CAD features and their properties directly from native SolidWorks part models. This data-exchange enhancement lets Esprit programmers bring feature properties and attributes across to the CAM program without data translation or data loss.
The data-exchange technology provides more-precise automatic part definitions, including feature name, type, description, and category. Thus, Esprit's Process Manager works from a more-complete and accurate part description in selecting the most-appropriate machining process for any given part.
Users machine parts directly from original SolidWorks solid models for superior part integrity. Both the SolidWorks CAD and Esprit CAM systems use the Parasolid solid-modeling kernel to design parts and generate associated CNC programs. Asmachined parts match original as-designed versions.
In addition to clearer CAD to CAM communication, Esprit's feature-exchange technology streamlines the CNC-programming process with greater programming automation. This eliminates the time required for input and verification of data associated with part features.
