Gilpin, a global packaging company, announced October 2 it had finished its acquisition of AMCLO, which manufactures metal closures and lids for cans and tubes. According to a Gilpin company release, the deal includes AMCLO’s production equipment, inventory and customers.

In a statement, Gilpin CEO Paul McClure said the AMCLO acquisition would be a part of Gilpin’s new line of specialty metal packaging. The line, McClure said, “brings a whole new level of value-added expertise and capabilities to AMCLO customers as well as the opportunity to purchase other forms of packaging through Gilpin.”

As part of the deal, AMCLO’s equipment and inventory will be transferred to Rayfield Metal Stamping’s Greenville, Pennsylvania factory, where it will begin production of metal closures as Gilpin’s manufacturing partner. According to McClure, the partnership with Rayfield “underscores our commitment to support U.S. manufacturing and domestic supply security.”
