The U.S. Dept. of Defense awarded a five-year, $495-million contract to Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems for technical representative engineering services. The contract, which was not assigned according to open bidding, runs through July 2030 and will provide engineering services for “various major defense programs.”
The work will be performed by Northrop Grumman in Oklahoma City, where its Aeronautics Systems business develops software and avionics engineering, testing, and support for some high-profile U.S. Air Force programs including the B-2 Spirit stealth bomber, the LGM-35A Sentinel missile platform, the E-3 Sentry Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS), and the TACAMO airborne communication network.
In addition to software engineering and avionics testing and development, the Northrop Grumman Oklahoma City operation conducts vehicle engineering and sustainment, logistics and product support.
