Bombardier Inc. is reporting a major order for it business jets and service agreements from an unnamed, first-time buyer – worth up to $4 billion if all options are exercised. The order involves 50 private aircraft from the Challenger and Global series, with options for 70 more jets, and a service agreement that the OEM describes as “first of a kind.”
The firm aircraft orders and the service agreement will total $1.7 billion of revenue for Bombardier. It did not detail the total number of each aircraft model to be supplied.
The deliveries will begin in 2027. Montreal-based Bombardier said its customer prefers to remain anonymous but apparently it will stage its own market introduction.
The Challenger series aircraft are offered in several variants, from “super midsize” jets to larger jets for transcontinental or long-range routes.
The Global series are larger and more luxury-oriented aircraft for high-speed long-range and intercontinental travel.
“This significant order underscores the competitive advantage Bombardier’s full scope of products and services brings to customers throughout the entire aircraft lifecycle, from design to delivery, then throughout the in-service journey,” stated Éric Martel, president and CEO.
