High-Precision 5-Axis Machining Center
TAKUMI will be demonstrating the latest generation of its U800 five-axis machining center at IMTS 2026, in the South building at booth 338319. Featuring a rigid True Gantry design and 20,000-rpm HSK-63A spindle, the machine achieves the demanding surface finishes common to die/mold, aerospace and medical applications.
The newest iteration of the successful U800 includes a range of features that improve both performance and ease-of-use. The machine’s spindle now incorporates Takumi’s iSpin III intelligent thermal compensation system to offset temperature-driven spindle growth and variations in ambient temperature. A Renishaw RMP400 high-accuracy probe simplifies set-ups and enhances process control. Additionally, the U800 now includes a 64-station automatic tool changer as standard, with a 96-station version available optionally.
A one-piece casting and double-column design allow the 800U to achieve high cutting feeds while maintaining superior surface finishes. Roller-type linear ways provide a larger contact area compared to a ball-type design, supporting faster machine movements, greater rigidity and smoother linear motion. A contactless, magnetic direct drive on the A and C axes ensures zero backlash during five-axis machining, allowing for flawless mirror finishes.
Ideal for large components with complex geometries, the U800 provides a meaningfully larger envelope than other machines in its class, accommodating workpieces to a maximum diameter of 45.3 in. (1,1150 mm) and height of 27.6 in. (700 mm.)
The 800U is available with either a Heidenhain TNC7 with a 24 in. LCD or Siemens Sinumerik One NCU1760 with a 15 in. LCD.
