NAGEL TECHNOLOGIES GmbH introduced the EasyHone VRX honing platform engineered for maximum flexibility, precision, and cost-effective machining. Designed specifically for small- and medium-volume production, the machine combines an adaptable platform with proven honing expertise, addressing the demands of flexible manufacturing.
The machine is built on a vibration-optimized structure paired with a generously sized T-slot clamping table. This makes it possible to host customer-specific fixturing solutions, ranging from single-part fixtures to multi-part batch setups. With an X-axis travel of 1,200 mm (47.2 in.), the system accommodates a range of component geometries while ensuring fast, repeatable positioning. This results in reduced set-up times, production flexibility, and stable machining.
The EasyHone VRX incorporates Nagel's proven honing technology, combining high-precision axis guidance with an accurate feed system featuring integrated bore correction and automatic tool wear compensation.
An optional, in-process air gauging system allows closed-loop process control, delivering tight tolerances, consistent surface finishes, and repeatable dimensional accuracy even for demanding component geometries.
A newly developed Honing Assistant simplifies operation by supporting software-based program creation. Its guided workflow reduces set-up effort and improves repeatability, particularly with frequent part changes. The EasyHone VRX also has been designed with future manufacturing requirements in mind. Flexible interface options and Industry 4.0 connectivity promote seamless integration into existing production systems and automated manufacturing environments. One of the machine's distinguishing features is its integrated Beckhoff MX-System: All electrical components are incorporated directly into the machine, eliminating the need for a conventional external electrical cabinet. This reduces installation effort, minimizes factory floor space requirements, and improves service accessibility.
