HWR Workholding USA announced two new workholding products October 8. The INOFlex VF-A hydraulic 4-jaw chuck and the SOLIDPoint pneumatic coupler are both built to accommodate automated systems, according to a company release.

The INOFlex VF-A uses hydraulics and compensation technology to move its 4 jaws independently, allowing for automated centering of workpieces and work with a variety of workpiece shapes without adjustment. HWR also says the design lets workpieces be changed more quickly and enables automatic systems.

The SOLIDPoint pneumatic coupler, meanwhile, works with a shop’s existing pneumatic system to integrate HWR’s SOLIDLine system of pneumatic workholders and allows for works to be loaded or unloaded from vices robotically.

According to VP of Operations at HWR USA Marcus Saur, both products support implementing automation, a priority for HWR customers.

“When manufacturers are facing uncertainty, flexible automation can be one of the most powerful tools at their disposal,” Saur said in a statement. “We’ve seen an increasing number of customers looking for ways to boost throughput without increasing headcount or floorspace. Both of these new products support the automation needed to make that happen.”
