Metallurgy Course FAQs

When are the courses available?
These online, on-demand courses are self-paced.  You can take the courses whenever it is convenient for you.  You will have access to courses for three months from the date of registration.  Many of the courses are short enough that they can be completed in just a few sessions of 30 minutes each.

How are the courses presented?
The courses are online.  They consist of modules that contain narrated slides with text, images, graphs, and video.  Click on the Preview button on the any of the courses listed on our website to see samples of what the courses look like.  

How do I take a course?
After purchasing a course, you will receive login instructions by email within 1 business day.

Do I have to complete a course in one sitting?
No.  Some courses consist of just one learning module and others consist of several modules.  Regardless of the number of modules, you can pause a module in the middle and return later.  The system will keep track of where you stopped.  For courses with more than one module, you can also stop after completing a module and return later to watch the next module.  There is one exception to this – the course exam.  It must be completed in one session.

Are there course notes?
Yes.  Downloads of the course material are available with each course.

How do I obtain my certificate of completion?
Certificates of completion can be printed after completing a course, which includes passing the course exam.

How long will I have to complete a course?
Three months from the course registration date.  After this time the access to the course expires.

Can the courses be applied towards a college diploma?
No.  These are professional development courses.
