Precision gears, splined and threaded parts Expanded portfolio of aerospace components, sub-assemblies

Milwaukee-based Rexnord, a manufacturer of process and motion control devices, acquired the assets of Micro Precision Gear Technology Limited, an aerospace gear producer. The price of the takeover was not announced. Rexnord’s Process & Motion Control business unit designs, manufactures highly engineered mechanical components, and the company said Micro Precision’s operations would extend its own reach into aerospace markets.

Headquartered in Hempstead, England, Micro Precision Gear Technology is specialty designer and manufacturer of precision gear, splined and threaded components, and it has extensive testing facilities, high-precision assembly services, and machine tool sales.

Micro-Precision products are used for actuation, flight control, and power generation applications on wide-and-narrow body aircraft worldwide.

“Micro-Precision’s deep technical capability has allowed them to build strong partnerships with key customers on growth aerospace programs,” stated Darryl Mayhorn, president of Rexnord Aerospace.

“The combination of the two companies provides the ability to bring additional content to our existing aerospace customers, while building on Micro-Precision’s customer relationships,” Mayhorn continued. “Together we offer an expanded portfolio of mission-critical, highly efficient aerospace components, sub-assemblies and services.”
