Specifically designed to meet the needs of the aerospace industry, Makino’s (www.makino.com) MAG 1 five-axis machining center quickly and precisely produces aluminum production parts measuring to 1,500 mm and weighing 1,330 kg.

With X, Y, and Z-axis travels of 1,520 mm by 1,100 mm by 1,350 mm, the MAG 1 accommodates such structural parts as ribs, leading edges and trailing edges of aircraft wing structures. Other machine features include a 33,000-rpm 107-hp HSK80 spindle, the company’s Super Geometric Intelligence v.4 control, 60-position tool changer (120-tool version available), and automatic pallet transfer and storage system.
