Haas Automation

American-Made Value, Uncompromising Quality, Worldwide Service
Haas Automation is the largest unitvolume builder of CNC machine tools in the western world, and the largest dollar-volume machine tool builder in North America. All Haas products are built in the company’s 1-million-square-foot manufacturing facility in Southern California.

During 2006, Haas built and shipped more than 12,500 CNC machines – a milestone in the machine tool industry. The company reached another milestone in May 2007, when its 75,000th CNC machine tool was installed at a second-tier automotive supplier in Europe, one of the company’s fastest-growing markets.

All Haas products are distributed through a worldwide network of Haas Factory Outlets (HFOs) that provides immediate local service and support to expedite repairs when necessary, and keep customers’ machines operating at their optimum level. Each HFO has complete showroom facilities, factorytrained service personnel, extensive spare-parts inventories and fully stocked service vehicles.

The Haas manufacturing facility currently exceeds one million square feet, with a production capacity of more than 1,200 machines per month. To meet the growing worldwide demand for Haas products, production levels will continue to increase throughout the year, with a goal of building 1,300 machines per month by year’s end.

Despite this rapid growth, Haas Automation will not compromise the quality of its products. “We will only increase our production at a rate that allows us to maintain the high level of quality that our customers demandand deserve,” states Haas Director of Operations Richard Mountan. Extensive use of lean manufacturing methods and just-in-time production practices allows the company to produce high-precision CNC products while maintaining exacting quality and value-based pricing.

At a time when many U.S. companies are moving offshore to reduce costs, Haas Automation continues to manufacture all of its products in-house at its facility in Oxnard, CA. This commitment to quality is what makes American-made Haas machine tools the best value in the industry.

About the company
Haas Automation Inc., is the world’s leading manufacturer of CNC machine tools. Gene Haas founded the company in 1983 to manufacture the industry’s first-ever, fully programmable collet indexer. The Haas 5C indexer was a huge success, and during the next four years, the company expanded its product line to include a wide selection of programmable rotary tables, indexers and machine tool accessories. In 1987, Haas developed its first vertical machining center – the VF-1. Priced less than $50,000 – a then unheard-of price for an American-made machining center – the VF-1 was introduced at IMTS ‘88 in Chicago.

Today, Haas Automation manufactures a complete line of CNC vertical machining centers, horizontal machining centers, CNC lathes and rotary products. The company also builds a variety of specialty machines, including 5-axis machining centers, mold making machining centers, toolroom machines and gantry routers. To date, more than 80,000 Haas CNC machines and 48,000 rotary products have been sold throughout the world. Since its inception, Haas Automation’s philosophy has been to use the most modern manufacturing processes to build the best machine tools at the best prices. This approach has yielded nearly constant growth over the years, and a continuous expansion of the product line. Innovative new machines are introduced on a regular basis, and existing product lines undergo constant improvement.

Our mission is to design and build the finest CNC machine tools in the world, while delivering technology that meets our customers’ criteria for performance, reliability and value. Through this we help ensure the growth and success of manufacturing around the world. Haas equipment will always exceed our customers’ expectations for performance and value.
