Hexagon Metrology Inc. and Morris Group Inc. have formed a strategic partnership whereby the former’s metrology equipment and software products will be available through six of the machine tool builder’s distributor divisions.
“As our range of products and services has broadened significantly in recent years, we recognized the need to expand our distribution to ensure that we have more local coverage in key markets,” according to Hexagon Metrology president Angus Taylor. “Morris Group is the ideal fit for us in this key territory.”
Hexagon supplies manufacturing quality-control applications, including programmable coordinate measuring machines, portable articulated arms and software under the Brown & Sharpe, Sheffield, ROMER and PC-DMIS brands.
Connecticut-based Morris Group owns and operates 14 divisions that supply CNC manufacturing technology and related engineering and support services to manufacturers nationwide. It is one of North America’s largest fully integrated suppliers of CNC machine tools and related engineering and support services.
Morris Group president Bradley R. Morris stated: "We are very excited to have engaged with Hexagon Metrology across our corporation. Our expertise lies in developing unique engineered solutions for our customers using the most advanced technology available. Hexagon’s broad- based, superior quality multi-dimensional measuring equipment is a perfect fit with what we do best.”
