Tool company hits the small screen

Dec. 5, 2006

The L.S. Starrett Co., one of the last remaining full-line American precision toolmaking companies, will make its debut on the Travel Channel's "Made in America" show. The program celebrates the people, places and products that are uniquely American, saluting those men and women who work with their hands to make products.
Starrett's 10-minute segment is slated to air on January 9, 2007, at 9:00 p.m. (Eastern standard time). The episode will be identified as Sunkist.
Actor John Ratzenberger hosts "Made in America," currently in its third season. Starrett (www.starrett.com) achieved its place on the show based on a 125-year heritage of making precision measuring tools and equipment. Each year, approximately 1,000 companies vie to be featured on the program, but only about 40 actually make it.
