Eaton Completes Purchase of the Moeller Group

Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation has completed the purchase of The Moeller Group., a company based in Bonn, Germany, that supplies components for commercial and residential building applications and industrial controls for industrial equipment applications. Moeller sells products primarily to customers in Western and Eastern Europe and the Asia Pacific region. The Moeller Group has 15 global production facilities, sales offices in more than 90 countries and approximately 8,700 employees, as announced in Eaton's December 20, 2007 news release. Read More

Japanese Company Increases Orders for Boeing 767-300 Freighters

Boeing and Tokyo-based ANA (All Nippon Airways) said the airline company has exercised options for two more 767-300 Boeing Converted Freighters. The value of the agreement is not being disclosed.
Previously, ANA launched the 767-300BCF program with a 2005 order for three conversions and four options. In 2006, ANA exercised two of the options and this agreement to exercise the last of the 2005 options brings the airline's firm order total to seven of the passenger-to-freighter conversions. General Dynamics Gets Contract for Biological Detection System Production and Support

The U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command Acquisition Center, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md., awarded General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products a contract option worth approximately $43 million to produce and test Joint Biological Point Detection Systems (JBPDS). The contract terms also include field-support packages and user training for the technology. This award is a modification of a 2004 contract and brings the total value to date to more than $200 million. General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products is a business unit of General Dynamics. Bell Helicopter and AATD Advancing Maintenance Programs for Aircraft

Bell Helicopter, a Textron Inc., and the U.S. Army Aviation Applied Technology Directorate (AATD) are advancing the state-of-the-art for Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) Technologies. The Bell team for this program includes risk sharing partners Honeywell International and Goodrich Corporation, in addition to a variety of internationally recognized universities, small businesses, and consultants. Parker Hannifin Acquires Vansco Electronics

Parker Hannifin Corporation (has acquired Vansco Electronics, a designer and manufacturer of electronic controls, displays and terminals, communication and operator interfaces, and sensors. Vansco systems for mobile equipment, a primary Parker market, include key applications for agricultural, construction, material handling, bus, RV, and specialty truck equipment. Vansco facilities in Canada, the United States, Finland, Belgium, and the United Kingdom employ 1,005 people. In the fiscal year ending August 31, 2007, Vansco achieved sales of approximately $180 million. Approximately 83 percent of Vansco's sales are made in Parker's Industrial North America reporting segment. This acquisition is expected to be accretive to earnings in its first full year of operations. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Read More
