IMTS names conference partners for new Manufacturing Business and Technology Forum

Conference portion of IMTS is being developed and expanded

The International Manufacturing Technology Show (www.IMTS.com) 2008 will host an all new Manufacturing Business and Technology Forum, and has formed a partnership with key industry organizations.

The forum will be called “Where Technology and Business Connect,” and will be held during the IMTS event, Sept. 8 through Sept. 13.

The forum will feature educational sessions conducted by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, the Center for Automotive Research, the American Society for Precision Engineering, the National Tooling and Machining Association, Tooling U and the Association for Manufacturing Technology.

“By expanding the number of partners participating in our educational efforts we can offer broad and relevant content to our IMTS attendees. More than ever before, we are designing this education experience for the end-user,” Peter Eelman, IMTS vice president for Exhibitions, said.

The sessions will explore technologies that can change the way companies manufacture, business development and optimization, workforce efficiency and productivity, and MT Connect which is a new interoperability standard for manufacturers.

IMTS, the International Manufacturing Technology Show, is the largest and longest running manufacturing technology trade show in the United States. It is held every other year at McCormick Place in Chicago, and is ranked among the largest trade shows in the world.
