French logistics software company Dassault Systemes (www.3ds.com) is buying Cary, N.C. based Engineous Software (www.engineous.com) for $40 million. Dassault says Engineous will become part of its simulation software business, SIMULIA, based in Providence, R.I.
Engineous, a spinoff from General Electric, developed automation, integration and optimization applications. Chief executive officer Janet Wylie will leave the company, while co-founder Siu Tong will stay in a R&D role.
Engineous has more than 90 employees, 51 in Cary. Most of the employees are expected to stay with the new company.
The deal is expected to close in July.
