Saint-Gobain gets new president

Saint-Gobain Abrasives has appointed Joseph Menendez as company president, effective immediately. He is responsible for all of the company's worldwide operations, which includes 75 plants in 35 countries, generating more than $2 billion in sales. Menendez will maintain offices in Worcester, Mass., and Paris, France.
Menendez has been vice president of Saint-Gobain Abrasives (www.saint-gobain.com/us) North America since 2005. Previously, he was president of the company's Grains & Powders business and worked out of Saint-Gobain headquarters in Paris.
In other Saint-Gobain news, Mark Rayfield assumes the responsibilities of vice president and general manager for Saint-Gobain Abrasives North America, which includes locations in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Rayfield will be based out of Worcester.
