Mazak says its new Integrex e-1550V fuses the capabilities of a simultaneous five-axis machining center and CNC turning center to accomplish complete machining of large workpieces in a single setup by using a 50 hp, 12,000 rpm milling spindle that can tilt 150 degrees and a 50 hp, 300 rpm rotating table. Maximum workpiece dimensions are 78.7 in. by 56.7 in., and an 11,000-pound maximum weight. Maximum swing/turning diameter is 78.7 in. The Integrex e-1550V is available with a standard, two-palette changer and 40-tool magazine. Optional tool magazines can carry as many as 330 tools.. Rapid traverse rates in x-, y- and z-axes are 1575 ipm. Contouring accuracy is in 0.0001-degree increments in b- and c-axes.
The -1550V is equipped with Mazak’s e-Tower, that combines information technology advantages with the Integrex advanced multitasking technology. Through the e-Tower, Mazak says instructions, reports, alarm notifications, and other messages are delivered to and from the machine from remote locations. The machine also has a multi-purpose CCD camera that is designed to deliver visual checks and confirmations.
The Mazatrol 640M Pro CNC, developed for the Integrex series, uses Mazatrol conversational programming. Mazak saysm, drilling, tapping and turning on the Integrex now are programmed in the same manner as on a machining center.
