McMachinery Systems, Inc. (www.mitusbishi-world.com) has introduced the Mitsubishi ED-2000NC small-hole EDM drill. The drill's 5-axis design provides flexibility for diverse applications, and C-axis ranges from 50 rpm to 800 rpm provide improved application control. The Mitsubishi PLC and Motion Control System with 2-axis linear scales was designed specifically for this machine. The touch-screen offers simple and comprehensive operation including manual drive, positioning, e-conditioning and program editing screens. The company says the patented power supply generates no bullet nosing on the electrode, creating cleaner holes and quicker breakthroughs.

Machine options include automatic 8-position electrode changer with auto-length sensing and tilt and rotary indexing for multi-angle hole applications.
