Sandvik Coromant (www.sandvik.com) unveils two new generation milling insert grades, GC1030 and GC4240, that the company says allow for higher efficiency in steel milling. The GC1030 grade uses a PVD coating to improve wear resistance and performs well in machining titanium and high-temperature alloys, while the GC4240 grade contains a new substrate and CVD coating for demanding steel milling operations that require high metal removal rates.
