Sumitono Electric's (www.sumicarbide.com) antivibration X-Bars for deep-hole boring have a dampening mechanism that the company says eliminates chatter, and gives the tools long life while providing fine finishes at up to 6 times length-to-diameter ratios.

The company says the X-Bars are good for extended overhangs, step boring, bottom facing and copying. The coolant-through tools come with CCMT, TCMT, or TPMT inserts with a variety of chipbreakers, including ELU and ESU. Shank diameters range from 0.5 in. to 1.0 in.
