American National Carbide (www.anconline.com) has introduced enhancements to its ANN series of cut off/parting inserts, including a new PVD coated grade (AN2120) for steels and stainless steels. The inserts are offered in cutting widths from 0.079 in. to 0.354 in. (2 mm to 9 mm), and face angles of 3 degrees, 8 degrees and 15 degrees. The inserts are interchangeable with the Iscar Self Grip GTN, GTR, and GTL styles. A new grade, AN2120, features a PVD coating on a tough, alloyed substrate and is designed for low to medium cutting speeds in unfavorable conditions. For high speed machining on cast iron the preferred grade is AN3010.
The company says additional grades are available to suit any application.
