PPG To Restructure Automotive Coatings Unit
PPG Industries’ automotive original equipment manufacture (OEM) coatings business said that it would restructure its manufacturing presence in North America.
The company said it anticipates the closure of its Clarkson, Ont., Canada, coatings manufacturing facility sometime in mid-2009. The plant employs approximately 150 people. Read More

PPG Industries’ protective and marine coatings business today announced that it would restructure its manufacturing presence in Europe and reorganize its support functions.

Environmental Improvement At Boeing Impacts European Carriers
Since the beginning of 2008, seven airlines adopted The Boeing Company's new Performance Improvement Package (PIP) for their 777 fleets. The Performance Improvement Package, scheduled for an April 2009 introduction into service, is committed on 10 Boeing 777 fleets totaling 170 airplanes. The improved fuel burn eliminates three million pounds (1,360,800 kilograms) of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per airplane each year, further reducing the environmental impact of air travel.
