Electroless plated parts
Electroless or chemical plating applies a consistent coating layer of nickel, copper, chromium or other metal to finished parts without relying on an external electrical source, by staging several simultaneous chemical reactions in an aqueous solution.

Understanding Plating Processes and Advantages

Both electroless plating and traditional plating add function and quality to finished parts, but the differences between the two processes may help define the value of the process to manufacturers.

Metal plating adds quality and value to finished parts, and provides multiple other benefits to the parts’ buyers. The seemingly simple technique of plating a substrate metal or material with a coat of a different metal can improve corrosion resistance, add decorative appeal, enhance solderability, add mechanical strength, reduce friction, enhance or reduce conductivity, and improve magnetism and paint adhesion.
