Aug. 5, 2020
A 13-year, fixed-price contract will cover 230 high-bypass turbofan engines installed in the airline's A320ceo aircraft, and carried out at 18 MRO centers around the world.

JetBlue Airways inked a long-term service agreement with Pratt & Whitney for 230 V2500® engines installed in JetBlue's A320ceo aircraft. The EngineWise® fixed-price agreement will run through 2033, and will be carried out by 18 Pratt & Whitney MRO centers around the world, of which three are managed by Pratt & Whitney and its joint ventures.

The EngineWise service portfolio provides aftermarket services to engine operators, to maximize engine performance and fleet availability.

The financial value of the service agreement was not announced.

JetBlue operates a fleet of 193 Airbus A320ceo family aircraft, and has ordered 85 GTF-powered Airbus A320neo family aircraft, of which 10 have been delivered. JetBlue also has 70 GTF-powered Airbus A220 aircraft on order, with deliveries to begin later this year.

The V2500 engine is a twin-shaft, high-bypass turbofan engine manufactured by International Aero Engines, a joint venture of Pratt & Whitney with MTU Aero Engines and Japanese Aero Engine Corp.

"The V2500 engine has been the workhorse of the JetBlue fleet since the airline's inception," stated Steve Priest, JetBlue CFO. "This agreement provides predictable maintenance and supports efficient operations needed to serve our customers for many years to come."
