When IMTS kicks off September 8, it will mark the 30th edition of the show. Over 1,900 manufacturers, vendors and technology providers from across the world will be on the scene, packing 15,000 new machines, gadgets and tools into the 1.2 million square feet of Chicago's McCormick Place to demonstrate the latest advances in manufacturing technology. After 60 years, there are a lot of them.
The experience and expectations of visitors and exhibitors reveal not only the progress of manufacturing over the past half century, but also point toward the present capabilities and the future possibilities for them and their enterprises.
IndustryWeek, the affiliate publication of AmericanMachinist in Penton Media's Manufacturing and Supply Chain Group, sizes up the times and trends before IMTS 2014 begins. Read it here.
