Ineeded to drill the tops of extremely large and heavy stamping dies. However, moving these dies into position on the bed of our huge drill press was a job that required brass hammers and a lot of elbow grease. I could have used a roller-ball table, but that required two people and wasn't the safest way to go. The solution was BBs. Yes, the same ones used in air rifles.

Now when I need to drill a large die, I first coat the drill press bed with a film of grease, then scatter the BBs across the surface to easily move the dies.
