Budget-conscience EDM

Referred to as the “affordable sinker EDM” by its builder Sodick Inc., the C32 not only fits in a shop’s budget, but also into limited available floorspace. The machine’s compact size takes up 3.5 ft by 5.5 ft of space, yet provides a large worktank size of 24 in. by 18 in. and axis travel of 12 in. by 8 in. by 6 in. The C32 handles workpieces weighing to 110 lb and electrodes of 44 lb. A 1-gigabyte USB memory stick and a 4-gigabyte compact flash card memory that eliminates the need for hard drives are standard items with the machine.
