Indexable drill simplifies operations |
An indexable drill has been introduced with adjustability of 0.200 in. (5.1 mm) on diameter, eliminating the need for specials and/or subsequent boring operations. The indexable drill is available in diameters from 1.75 in. to 4.0 in., with 12 different holders and three lengths to 4.5-times diameter. Read the full story here |
New diamond dressing technology improves cutting |
A new hybrid bonding technology for rotary diamond products has been developed that combines the toughness of metal bonding with the natural porosity of a vitrified bond structure, comparable to porosity found in vitrified CBN grinding wheels. Read the full story here |
High-speed cutter for stainless sheet |
A new line of tools have been developed that are capable of running at high spindle speeds while providing good tool life to solve the problem of cutting stainless steel on a high-speed CNC router. The combination of cutting geometry and coating allows stainless steel to be routed for sign, exhibit, and general sheet applications. Read the full story here |
Tools with variable pitch reduce chatter |
New cutters with a variable pitch flute pattern are designed to eliminate harmonic vibration, the main source of chatter. The manufacturer said the tools enable faster cutting and finer finishes in rough or finish slotting, shoulder milling and cavity milling and result in longer edge life because of reduced chatter.
