Single or dual spindles for VMCs

The modular designs of the Series 12K VMCs from Chiron America Inc. allow configuring them as single or dual-spindle machining centers. The machines feature 4.5-ton cast-mineral machine beds that dampen vibration and provide thermal stability and rigidity. These beds are also motionless counterbalances for handling traverse speeds of more than 3,500 ipm at up to 2-G acceleration.
