Interested Eastec 2005 attendees can check out a special demonstration that pits conventional machining techniques against "optimized" lean practices. The demo, according to Kevin Bevan, president of Cincinnati-based machine tool distributor GBI Cincinnati, shows end users the benefits of running the right machine under optimal lean machining processes.

GBI is joining forces with TechSolve, Cincinnati, in booth 1604/1606. There, engineers from TechSolve will run demonstrations of its Part Cost Reduction and Tool Tuning services on a Cincinnati Lamb V.CNC 500 provided by GBI. Both services reportedly help shops significantly reduce costs in the manufacture of complex, long-cycletime parts. Attendees will see steel parts machined via traditional and lean methods.

"We're working closely with GBI to create this new demonstration for Eastec," says Tom McClure, a TechSolve executive vice president. "The demo shows how we match our proprietary Part Cost Reduction and Tool Tuning expertise to our clients' needs and machinery to create savings of 20% or more."

Eastec runs May 24-26 in West Springfield, Mass.
