T.M. Smith's G5 shrinkfit tabletop induction-heating machine provides integrated refrigerant cooling and a three-station rotary toolholder table.
The 400-V system produces temperatures of 500 to 600°F that expand toolholder bores in 6 sec, and it heats small-carbide, high-speed steel and standard alloytoolholder shanks in 9 to 15 sec at higher temperatures. For cooling, the system uses refrigerated water so no air is required.
