Fifty-nine new insert styles in grade T350M from Seco-Carboloy, Warren, Mich., are for operations in soft to medium high-alloy steels and free-cutting difficult-to-machine stainless steels. The inserts join the company's range of face, square-shoulder, helical, disc, and copy-milling cutter families. Also, the new inserts are for a range of disc mills, and the 50.10-style cut-off tooling is for lathe operations.
Grade T350M has a tough substrate and a smooth medium temperature chemical vapor deposition (MTCVD) coating that reportedly delivers high performance and long tool life in high-feed applications with a broad range of materials. The grade has a combination titaniumcarbonitride/aluminum-oxide top coating that minimizes workpiece adhesion when machining sticky materials.
