The Romicron fine-boring system from Romi Machine Tools Ltd, Erlanger, Ky., permits graduated dial adjustments of 1 micron on the tool radius without removing the tool from the machine.

The Romicron fine-boring system from Romi Machine Tools Ltd, Erlanger, Ky., permits graduated dial adjustments of 1 micron on the tool radius without removing the tool from the machine. With a stop at each graduation, operators feel and hear (click) adjustments.

The Romicron SVS system has ten models covering a boring range of 25 mm to 183 mm, through-the-tool coolant (when coolant is available through the spindle), a coolant-pressure range of 213 psi to 1,000 psi. and a

speed range of 3,000 rpm to 10,000 rpm. The SVU system has three versions and a bore range of 71 mm to 326 mm, built-in balancing to G 6.3 according to ISO standard 1940, an allowable coolant-pressure range of 284 psi to 1,000 psi and a speed range of 6,000 rpm to 10,000 rpm. The SVUBB1 boring head has a range of 4.0 mm to 16.5 mm with a maximum spindle speed of 25,000 rpm. The SVUBB2 boring head has a range of 6 mm to 25.5 mm with a maximum spindle speed of 10,000 rpm.
